On Saturday July 13th and Sunday July 14th 2019, the Poquoson Museum presented, “The Vietnam War: A Living History & Commemoration Event.”
Upon entering the gate, patrons traveled back to the Vietnam era. Late 60s and 70s tunes filled the air, even 2nd Airman Cronauer was heard yelling, “Good Morning Vietnam!”
In full dress, re-enactors and volunteers shared stories of wartime, displayed military artifacts, collectibles, memorabilia, and replicas. No detail was sparred in the exhibits. Military cots, netting, and trunks packed full of daily essentials for soldiers helped set the mood. Simple treats such as Kool-Aid packs and cards from home put a smile on your face.
Classic cars lined the grassy field and shone bright in the sunshine. From the candy apple red Mustang, to the long and wide fiery Booneville, and the deep maroon SS Nova, the cars were a huge hit!
The Poquoson Museum would like to thank all its volunteers, members, re- enactors, DJ Greg Martin, and classic car owners, for all of your hard work and dedication to preserving history. Thank you!
